This book constitutes the proceedings of the 8th International Joint Conference on Rules and Reasoning, RuleML+RR 2024, held in Bucharest, Romania, during September 16-18, 2024. The 12 full papers and 4 short papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 35 submissions. The RuleML+RR symposia were devoted to disseminating research, applications, languages, and standards for rule technologies, with attention to both theoretical and practical developments, to challenging new ideas and to industrial applications.
Dynamics, Uncertainty and Reasoning
This volume collects selected papers presented at the Second Chinese Conference on Logic and Argumentation in 2018 held in Hangzhou, China. The papers presented reflect recent advances in logic and argumentation, as well as the connections between the two, and also include invited papers contributed by leading experts in these fields. The book covers a wide variety of topics related to dynamics, uncertainty and reasoning. It continues discussions on the interplay between logic and argumentation which has a long history from Aristotle’s ancient logic to very recent formal argumentation in AI.
Recent Advances in Constraints
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed and extended post-workshop proceedings of the 13th Annual ERCIM International Workshop on Constraint Solving and Constraint Logic Programming, CSCLP 2008, held in Rome, Italy, in June 2008. The 9 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 14 initial submissions. The papers in this volume present original research results, as well as applications, in many aspects of constraint solving and constraint logic programming. Research topics that can be found in the papers are ̄rst-order constraints, symmetry breaking, global constraints, constraint optimization problems, distributed constraint solving problems, soft constraints, as well as the analysis of application domains such as cumulative resource problems and hybrid systems.

The 18 revised full papers presented together with 5 short papers and 2 position papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 48 submissions. Recent Advances in Constraints

It's All About Coordination
This Festschrift volume has been published to celebrate the lifelong scientific achievements of Farhad Arbab on the occasion of his retirement from the Centre of Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI). Over the years Farhad Arbab has sucessfully been engaged in scientific explorations in various directions: Software Composition, Service Oriented Computing, Component-based Software, Concurrency Theory, Coordination Models and Languages, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Visual Programming Environments, Constraints, Logic and Object-Oriented Programming. Farhad Arbab has shaped the field of Coordination Models and Languages. His insight that it is all about exeogeneous coordination gave rise to the striking elegance and beauty of Reo: an exogenous coordination model based on a formal calculus of channel composition. Reo has been extremely successful and is having a great impact in many of the areas mentioned above. The present volume collects a number of papers by several of Farhad’s close collaborators over the years.
Reasoning Techniques for the Web of Data
Linked Data publishing has brought about a novel “Web of Data”: a wealth of diverse, interlinked, structured data published on the Web. These Linked Datasets are described using the Semantic Web standards and are openly available to all, produced by governments, businesses, communities and academia alike. However, the heterogeneity of such data – in terms of how resources are described and identified – poses major challenges to potential consumers. Herein, we examine use cases for pragmatic, lightweight reasoning techniques that leverage Web vocabularies (described in RDFS and OWL) to better integrate large scale, diverse, Linked Data corpora. Coordination Models and Languages
