François Huber (July 2, 1750 - December 22, 1831), also known as Francis in English publications or Franz in German publications was a Swiss entomologist who specialized in honey bees. His pioneering work was recognized all across Europe and based on thorough observation with the help of several assistants due to his blindness. He became interested in honey bees after being read the works of René de Réaumur and Charles Bonnet. He also had a conversation with the latter who was also based in Geneva. His curiosity was focused on the history of these insects. His initial desire was to verify some facts and then fill in missing information. Since he was now blind, he had to rely on the help of others.

New Observations on the Natural History of Bees

New observations on the natural history of bees by Francois Huber When I had the honour at Genthod of giving you an account of my principal experiments on bees, you desired me to transmit a written detail, that you might consider them with greater attention. I hasten, therefore, to extract the following observations from my journal.-As nothing can be more flattering to me than the interest you take in my researches, permit me to remind you of your promise to suggest new experiments. We are delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to...

What Huber discovered and wrote about here, laid the ground work for all the practical knowledge we have of bees today. His discoveries were so revolutionary, that beekeeping can be divided in two eras very easily as pre-Huber and post-Huber. This edition of Huber's Observations by far surpasses any other edition ever printed in the English language. First it has both Volume I and II, while every English edition currently in print that I am aware of is only Volume I of the 1809 edition. which is only a third of the final Huber book. The second volume was published in 1814 in French 5 years after that 1809 edition and contains Huber's research on the origin of wax, the construction of comb, t...

Birth of a Neuromedicine

The theory of neuromedicine involves an understanding of humans as having three components: mind, body and neuroenergy. Its techniques allow the medical practitioner to stimulate the body to heal itself and allows an individual to gain a better health condition and a healthier outlook. This is a new approach to medicine that we now have, thanks to the advances in the neurosciences, advances that confirm the validity of the neurological hypotheses formulated by Dr. Huber. No medical substitutions and no untimely surgeries to resolve the body’s deficiencies. Neuromedicine is an effective re-education that relies on the undeniable clinical findings which are revealed by the examination of the...
