This is a new, deeper approach to learning hand lettering in general, and specifically the letter I, i as used in both calligraphy and in planetary associations. This is the first in a series of booklets, leading to a deep understanding of the American alphabet as the philosophical basis of understanding our world. The author has constructed a work-along approach to loading meaning into the letters as the pen is mastered. It builds toward the aspiration of calligraphers to understand the depth of the alphabet beyond the simple A, B, C's.
The Flashing Letters
The Flashing Letters will help create a mental association between the American letters and the astrological symbols with which they are associated in the Abcedrian System. The designs are simple, direct, and curiously attractive to the eye. Each letter is presented in four forms: a black and white pattern that flashes in the eye between two forms; the same but in outline template format for coloring yourself; the block letter the design is based on; and the block form of the astrological symbol that is related to the letter. These designs may be colored with any media, but colored pencils may work best on this paper. Markers will give stronger colors, but may bleed. Feel free to copy the pages for individual personal use in meditation and contemplation.
