György Ligeti

The combination of new insights into Ligeti by people who knew him with new analytical approaches will make this a core publication not only for Ligeti scholars, but also for readers interested in post-war music history and in Hungarian culture. Shortlisted for the RPS Music Award 2012 for Creative Communication. György Ligeti: Of Foreign Lands and Strange Sounds offers a new assessment of a composer whose constant exploration of new sound worlds- based on the musics of different cultures and ages - contributed in crucial ways to making him one of the most important musical voices of the last 50 years. The book combines texts by former students, colleagues and friends, who reflect on differ...

Around 100 scientists from 21 countries contributed to the four years of assembled works contained in this volume. Launched in May 2000, the aims of this cooperative action were: * to develop, combine and disseminate new technical engineering technologies * to improve the quality of urban buildings * to propose new technical solutions to architects and planners * to reduce the disturbance caused by construction in urban areas and improve urban quality of life. This publication is the final report of COST C12, and includes datasheets of key information related to mixed building technology, structural integrity under exception actions, and urban design.

Environmental and Human Impact of Buildings

Featuring research on topics such as low energy buildings' concepts, construction materials and technology, hybrid energy systems, energy balance, and wellbeing, this book meets the expectations of academicians, specialists and researchers in the field, along with the scholars seeking coverage on buildings, environmental and human impact. It presents an integrated approach to the buildings' energetic aspects, from the perspective of environmental impact, together with the indoor wellbeing. In this respect, the chapters include state of the art, case studies, as well as research results that validate the raised hypotheses. The book integrates topics related to buildings' performance, approached by researchers with different backgrounds within the civil engineering domain, i.e. achieved energetics performances, obstacles, restrictions and limitations issues within design and optimization processes, including the new perspectives in the buildings & energy sector.

György Lukács

  • Categories: Art

Sprache: Deutsch/Englisch
