This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Tbilisi Symposium on Logic, Language and Computation, TbiLLC 2015, held in Tbilisi, Georgia, in September 2015. The 18 papers in this book were selected from the invited submissions of full, revised versions of the 37 short papers presented at the conference, and one invited talk. Each paper has passed through a rigorous peer-review process before being accepted for publication. The biennial conference series and the proceedings are representative of the aims of the organizing institutes: to promote the integrated study of logic, information and language. The scientific program consisted of tutorials, invited lectures, contributed talks, and two workshops.
After being dominant during about a century since its invention by Baudouin de Courtenay at the end of the nineteenth century, morpheme is more and more replaced by lexeme in contemporary descriptive and theoretical morphology. The notion of a lexeme is usually associated with the work of P. H. Matthews (1972, 1974), who characterizes it as a lexical entity abstracting over individual inflected words. Over the last three decades, the lexeme has become a cornerstone of much work in both inflectional morphology and word formation (or, as it is increasingly been called, lexeme formation). The papers in the present volume take stock of the descriptive and theoretical usefulness of the lexeme, but also adress many of the challenges met by classical lexeme-based theories of morphology.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the European Conference on Logics in Artificial Intelligence, JELIA 2002, held in Cosenza, Italy in September 2002.The 41 revised full papers presented together with 11 system descriptions and 3 invited contributions were carefuly reviewed and selected from more than 100 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on multi-agent systems, evolution and changes, description logic and the semantic web, complexity issues, probabilistic logic, AI planning, modal logic and causal reasoning, theory, reasoning under uncertainty, satisfiability, paraconsisten reasoning, actions and caution, logic for agents, semantics, and optimization issues in answer set semantics.
This Festschrift volume contains papers presented at a conference, Prakash Fest, held in honor of Prakash Panangaden, in Oxford, UK, in May 2014, to celebrate his 60th birthday. Prakash Panangaden has worked on a large variety of topics including probabilistic and concurrent computation, logics and duality and quantum information and computation. Despite the enormous breadth of his research, he has made significant and deep contributions. For example, he introduced logic and a real-valued interpretation of the logic to capture equivalence of probabilistic processes quantitatively. The 25 papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed. They cover a large variety of topics in theoretical computer science.
Edited in collaboration with FoLLI, the Association of Logic, Language and Information this book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 27th Workshop on Logic, Language, Information and Communication, WoLLIC 2021, Virtual Event, in October 2021. The 25 full papers presented included 6 invited lectures were fully reviewed and selected from 50 submissions. The idea is to have a forum which is large enough in the number of possible interactions between logic and the sciences related to information and computation.
