Gribov-80 Memorial Volume
Vladimir Naumovich Gribov was one of the most outstanding theoretical physicists, a key figure in the development of modern elementary particle physics. His insights into the physics of quantum anomalies and the origin of classical solutions (instantons), the notion of parton systems and their evolution in soft and hard hadron interactions, the first theory of neutrino oscillations and conceptual problems of quantization of non-Abelian fields uncovered by him, have left a lasting impact on the theoretical physics of the 21st century. Gribov-80 - the fourth in a series of memorial workshops for V. N. Gribov - was organized on the occasion of his 80th birthday in May 2010, at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics. The workshop paid tribute to Gribov's great achievements and brought close colleagues, younger researchers and leading experts together to display the new angles of the Gribov heritage at the new energy frontier opened up by the Large Hadron Collider. The book is a collection of the presentations made at the workshop.

Quantum Infrared Physics
The common thread of the contributions collected here is an infrared approach to pressing problems in quantum field theory. Both high and low energy physics are represented, with much emphasis on QCD (Gribov horizons, infrared models, semiclassical applications, and effective Lagrangians). Other fields of interest are thermal infrared singularities, soft Pomeron physics, eikonal scattering phenomenology and the physics of bound states.

Seizing the moment at the attosecond of time is-"when it is meant to be." The author relates to how scientific theories can be integrated into an overarching explanation of how the macro workings of the infinite universe are intertwined with the micro activities of an individual’s activities in the physical world; and how this can be blended with the unseen world of spirituality of the universe, as coexisting parallel intertwined worlds. Science and spirituality are not in opposition to one another but complement each other and provide a more revealing explanation to our fundamental questions of “is it meant to be?” or “is it meant to be,”- Besher’t. In the process of trying to determine the complex concepts implied by “meant to be”, the author explores how one can have a predetermined existence and make “free will” decisions at the same time. Detailing some of the author’s own Besher’t life experiences, he ultimately concludes that one must recognize the spirituality teachings of Kabbalah and current scientific hypothesis of the Unified Theory to understand this complex question of how does free will have a role in predetermination.
