La plana de Lleida és ideal per a la pràctica del ciclisme, tant per la seva orografia com per la infinitat de camins existents. El Segrià és una de les comarques més extenses de tot Catalunya. L'aigua del riu Segre i dels canals que la creuen (d'Urgell i d'Aragó i Catalunya), amb una densa xarxa de sèquies derivades, bonifiquen les terres fèrtils, i la ciutat de Lleida li dóna la personalitat. Aquest llibre proposa 14 rutes que recorren gran part d'aquesta comarca i que volen fer conèixer diferents aspectes de la seva gent i del seu patrimoni natural. Són rutes pensades per fer acompanyats dels amics i de la família i, per aquesta raó, no són excessivament llargues, ni transcorren per camins en molt mal estat, ni tenen grans desnivells acumulats. A més d'un mapa general de la zona, per cada una de les 14 rutes que proposa el llibre hi trobarem un petit quadre resum de les característiques, el croquis de l'itinerari, la gràfica de les altituds i l'explicació cronològica amb referències detallades dels llocs d'interès arquitectònic, arqueològic o paisatgístic.

The Palacio de Congresos de Catalunya-the Catalan Conference Center-is one of Carlos Ferrater's most recent works, created in collaboration with Jose M. Cartana. This monograph on the buidling is an exhaustive analysis of the construction process, from the planning phase to its actual completion. As such, it will be a valuable book for those involved in the design of public buildings, as Ferrater is at the forefront of contemporary architecture. The building itself is divided into three sections, separated from each other by two interior streets that provide natural light for the rooms. The main entrance has a large vestibule and a hall with an amphitheater for 2,500 conference-goers. The central section can be subdivided into a multitude of smaller rooms and is reserved for more varied uses. The third and smallest section houses the cafeteria, offices, and other ancillary spaces.
