A iniciativa do evento partiu num primeiro momento dos próprios estudantes agremiados no Centro Acadêmico Clóvis Beviláqua, no ano de 2006. Já na 13ª edição, buscou-se realizar um Encontro de Pesquisa Jurídica. Foram inicialmente previstos 7 (sete) grupos de trabalho. GT 1 – Direito e Processo Constitucionais e Direitos Humanos e Fundamentais; GT 2 – Hermenêutica, Sociologia e Filosofia Jurídicas GT 3 – Direito e Processo Civis e Direito Empresarial GT 4 – Direito e Processo Trabalhistas e Direito da Seguridade Social GT 5 – Direito e Processos Administrativos e Direito Tributário GT 6 – Direito e Processo Penais, Criminologia e Vitimologia GT 7 – Direito Ambiental, do Mar e da Natureza. Os anais contemplam os trabalhos que foram aceitos para apresentação na própria semana.
