The Wulfsberg Family in America
Frantz Einar Wulfsberg (1841-1906) immigrated in 1862 from Norway to Rock County, Wisconsin, served with Union forces during the Civil War, and became a Lutheran pastor by 1868. He married Christiane Didrikke Hoff in 1868, and settled in Freeborn County, Minnesota. They later moved to Ridgeway and Decorah, Iowa, and then to St. Paul, Minnesota. Descendants and relatives lived in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and elsewhere. Includes ancestry in the parishes of Bragernes and Drammen in Buskerud County and elsewhere in Norway.

Angels
In the 1990s alone, more than 400 works on angels were published, adding to an already burgeoning genre. Throughout the centuries angels have been featured in, among others, theological works on scripture; studies in comparative religions; works on art, architecture and music; philological studies; philosophical, sociological, anthropological, archeological and psychological works; and even a psychoanalytical study of the implications that our understanding of angels has for our understanding of sexual differences. Lutherans and the Longest War
The dialogue between American Lutherans about foreign policy during the contentious decade provides an interesting perspective on the historiography of the US during the Vietnam era, says Settje, because they have never been a homogeneous or unified group, and represent a broad spectrum of religious, political, and diplomatic views not particularly associated with liberal or conservative positions. While he does look at some Lutherans who took public action, his focus is on debates within the denomination.

Justification and Participation in Christ
The unity of the early Lutheran reformation, even in the central themes such as justification, is still an open question. This study examines the development of the doctrine of justification in the works of the prominent first and second generation Lutheran reformers from the viewpoints of divine participation and effectivity of justification. Generally, Luther’s idea of Christ’s real presence in the believer as the central part of justification is maintained and taught by all Reformers while they simultaneously develop various theological frameworks to depict the nature of participation. However, in some cases these developed models are contradictory, which causes tension between theologians resulting in the invention of new doctrinal formulations.
