Two supplements containing additions and corrections were also issued annually. Il n'hésite pas à aborder, plus franchement que jamais, les doutes, déceptions et colères qu'ont soulevés des décisions prises par la hiérarchie catholique. Par exemple dans la faiblesse de la demande de pardon adressée aux victimes de prêtres pédocriminels. Il défend aussi des positions audacieuses, telle que le mariage des prêtres, avec des arguments plutôt originaux. Jacques Noyer est décédé en juin 2020 alors qu'il était en train de terminer le dernier chapitre de ce livre.
