The purpose of this paper is to discuss, in a general way, some problems of time signal dissemination in a noisy environment. Most of the paper applies to any timing system, but particular emphasis i * s given to a CW two-frequency system. This is done for two reasons:first, as will be shown, a two-frequency CW system evolves naturally from fundamental considerations to meet certain user requirements; and second, a two-frequency VLF system is being investigated experimentally at the present time.(Author).
Stimulating, illuminating, and thoughtfully presented, this study explores the early stages of the scientific revolution. A noted historian of science examines the Copernican revolution, the anatomical work of Vesalius, the work of Paracelsus, Harvey's discovery of the circulatory system, the effects of Galileo's telescopic discoveries, and much more.
