I didn't ask Chase to take me in when my life fell apart. Turns out my BFF has some kind of sick white-knight complex I can't wrap my head around. The tattooed antidote to my life of crazy. Moving in with him seemed like a great idea but I never expected to start thinking about him the way I have been. Fantasizing. Lusting. Wondering. Until a moment of weakness lands him in my bed. One night of toe-curling, back-bowing passion I'll never forget. And I've tried. It's impossible. Chase didn't fight like hell to get clean and sober just to toss it away on a hot mess like me. I'm a lost cause. Yet, it's a reckless risk he seems willing to take... even if my salvation means his ruin. From USA Today bestselling author, Jane Anthony, comes a stunning, standalone masterpiece about addiction, recovery, and reckless, ugly, never-ending love.
Rebecca's Daughters is the nearest Dylan Thomas ever came to realizing his ambition to write a film scenario in such a way that it would not only stand ready for shooting but would, at the same time, give the ordinary reader a visual impression of the film in words. A romantic adventure story set in mid-nineteenth-century Wales, Rebecca's Daughters has a dashing hero who is not what he seems; commonfolk oppressed by the landowners; and finally, justice triumphant over greed and misused privilege. Who is the mysterious "Rebecca" swathed in wide black skirts with a shawl drawn over his mouth and his eyes flashing from beneath the brim of his tall black hat as he exhorts his "daughters" to tear down the hated tollgates imposed by the gentry's Turnpike Trust? And where does the foppish Anthony Raine--just returned from a tour in India with the despised British army--stand? And how is the lovely Rhiannon to choose between them? This reissue of Thomas's delightful tale of derring-do has been illustrated with charm and verve by the celebrated wood engraver and graphic artist Fritz Eichenberg.

This amazing compilation contains the records of 16,000 marriages from fifty-one Missouri counties formed before 1840. The majority of the marriage records in this work were copied from the original marriage books on file in various county courthouses. Others were copied from previously published compilations; some were copied from both sources. All Missouri counties with marriage records prior to 1840 are covered except St. Louis County and City, which have been adequately covered elsewhere. The marriages listed here are arranged in alphabetical sequence by the surname of the groom. A bride's index at the back of the book contains the names of all 16,000 women mentioned in the marriage records.
