“What is it, Minister Andre?” Andre tried to figure out how to tell him without sounding ridiculous. “Pastor, I have fallen in love with the young lady I was telling you about.” Pastor Seavers was surprised, “You mean the lounge singer?” Andre waited a bit and then said, “She is not a lounge singer, pastor. She sings with her family on stage all over the world. She also sings gospel at times.” Paul just stared out the window. His eyes were red, and his hands were shaking like a leaf. Will looked at his long-time friend, shook his head, and said, “Man Paul, you know she can press charges? How could you attack her like that?” Paul closed his eyes, and rubbed his eyebrows, “She just kept talking, Will. Plain silly! I lost it. Man, for a minute there, I wanted to choke the living daylights out of her. This guy does not have a pot or a window!” “What?” Will asked. Paul looked at him. “He has nothing! And here she is just repeating that he is the only man for her. What got into her, Will? What in the world happened to her? She is the smartest child I have. She just lost her mind, man.” Will shook his head. “Love got into her Paul. It is love.”

Hard rock band Schadenfreude is finally on the verge of the success that’s eluded them for the last several years. With Aaron McClure as their new lead singer, nothing’s going to stop them…except maybe a steamy, secret relationship between Aaron and bassist Bastian Koehler. Aaron knows all too well what can happen when band members get involved with each other. After all, his last band was a casualty of his last relationship, and Schadenfreude forbids band members from dating for that very reason. But Bastian is too hot to resist, and besides, it’s just sex, so what’s the harm? Bastian has just gotten out of a long relationship with his volatile ex-fiancée when Aaron catches his eye. The sexy singer is irresistible, and in spite of the potential for strife within the band if this comes out, Bastian can’t help himself. Their passion in the bedroom is rivaled only by their ambition as musicians, though, and pretty soon, it's going to tear them, and Schadenfreude apart, if they can't get back to playing with the band. This book was previously published, and has been lightly revised from its original version. 88,000 words.
Books that blend explorations of pop music with a coming-of-age memoir have become bestsellers for authors like Nick Hornby and Chuck Klosterman. I take the concept one step further in my proposed book, "Reel to Real by Reel," which features uncut interviews--collected during my days as a music journalist. As the interviews are arranged in chronological order, the book offers two unique reading experiences at once: a look at the uncensored thoughts of touring musicians; and the life story of the author who conducted the interviews: a music fan since birth, a performing musician in his own right, a Christian who often struggles with questions about faith, and an OCD sufferer who finds some re...
How Many Miles to Babylon? uses the writing of European travelers to Egypt between c. 1300 and c. 1600 to give a picture of the country in the late medieval and early Renaissance periods, drawing on sources that have hitherto been inaccessible to English-speaking audiences. These accounts portray an Egypt ruled by the despotic Mamluk sultans and the early Ottoman governors, a society at once cruel and sophisticated, dangerous and alluring. The Europeans’ wonderment at the exotic flora and fauna, the ancient ruins of temples and pyramids, and the astonishing summer rise of the Nile to irrigate the crops and replenish the lakes and waterways of Cairo is well conveyed by these travelers’ tales. How Many Miles to Babylon? is a fascinating picture of the people, customs and culture of Egypt from the fourteenth century to the beginning of the seventeenth.
Author Cassandra Moore argues that we need to apply risk/benefit analysis to the exaggerated toxic scare stories being made today.
This book is about a guy named Jack that was touched by the hand of God, given powers of the Greek Gods to save the World from being over thrown by the original Titians. He found Merlin and gave him the white power of the Gods accidently; Merlin has always been a Red Guardian taking care of the red fairy. In this book the mother of the Gods Gaia an angel took human form and had children with an angel Pontus who also took human form. Now Zeus and Poseidon are working with him. He went down to purgatory to help get Hades, back in power so Hades owes him. Odin and the Norse Gods try to kill him, the Gods of Olympus are not on their side either. There are some twists and turns, they take down Typhon, and Prometheus, and Skadi. Venus and Calypso and The Lady of the Lake are released. The Blue fairies are stopped from taking over the world, at Stonehedge. (Those are the bad ones.) They find Bobba-Yaga, and bring her out of Russia, with her apprentice. It is a different way to look at the Gods of old. Enjoy.
