Fjords
Fjords are both an interface and a buffer between glaciated continents and the oceans. They exhibit a very wide range in environmental conditions, both in dynamics and geography. Some are truly wonders of the world with their dizzying mountain slopes rising sharply from the ocean edge. Sediment/Water Interactions
The papers appearing in this volume reflect the current attention in sediment/water science to five main topics of investigation: Sediment dynamics in estuaries, coastal waters, lakes, reservoirs and rivers; Sediment-associated biological processes; Contaminant accumulation, distribution and geochemistry; Fluxes from sediments; and Element cycling.
