Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Sorting Methods: Applications to Real-World Problems focuses on sorting approaches across a wide range of interesting techniques and research disciplines. The applications which have been, and can be, solved by these techniques are more and more important in current real-world decision-making problems. Therefore, the book provides a clear overview of MCDM sorting methods and the different tools which can be used to solve real-world problems by revising such tools and characterizing them according to their performance and suitability for different types of problems. The book is aimed at a broad audience, including computer scientists, engineers, geography and GI...
This book investigates in detail large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) problem, which has gradually evolved from the traditional group decision-making problem and has attracted more and more attention in the age of big data. Pursuing a holistic approach, the book establishes a fundamental framework for LSGDM with uncertain and behavioral considerations. To address the behavioral uncertainty and complexity of large groups of decision-makers, this book mainly focuses on new solutions of LSGDM problems using the interval type-2 fuzzy uncertainty theory and social network analysis techniques, including the exploration of uncertain clustering analysis, the consideration of social relationships, especially trust relationships, the construction of consensus evolution networks, etc. The book is intended for researchers and postgraduates who are interested in complex group decision-making in the new media era. Authors also investigate the similar features between LSGDM problems and group recommendations to study the applications of LSGDM methods. After reading this book, readers will have a new understanding of the LSGDM study under the real complicated context.
This report is a partial result of the China’s Quarterly Macroeconomic Model (CQMM), a project developed and maintained by the Center for Macroeconomic Research (CMR) at Xiamen University. The CMR, one of the Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China, has been focusing on China’s economic forecast and macroeconomic policy analysis, and it started to develop the CQMM for purpose of short-term forecasting, policy analysis, and simulation in 2005.Based on the CQMM, the CMR and its partners hold press conferences to release forecasts for China’ major macroeconomic variables. Since July, 2006, twenty-three quarterly reports on China’s macroeconomic outlook have been presented and twelfth annual reports have been published. This report, the twenty-fourth quarterly report, has been presented at the Forum on China’s Macroeconomic Outlook and Press Conference of CQMM on February 27, 2018. This conference was jointly held at Beijing, China by Center for Macroeconomic Research at Xiamen University, and Economic Information Daily at Xinhua News Agency.
The 2nd International Conference on Bigdata Blockchain and Economy Management (ICBBEM 2023) was successfully held on 19-21 May 2023 in Hangzhou, China. The conference aims to present the latest research results in the areas related to Big Data, Blockchain and Economic Management, and provide an opportunity for experts and scholars from various fields to meet face-to-face, exchange new ideas and practical experiences, establish business or research relationships, and seek future international cooperation. This volume contains a collection of excellent papers from the conference, presented on topics such as computer software and computer applications, blockchain in data management, e-commerce and digital commerce, and linear regression analysis. We hope that these papers will serve as a reference for young scholars in their future research.
The book presents high-quality papers from the Eighth Asia International Symposium on Mechatronics (AISM 2021). It discusses the latest technological trends and advances in electromechanical coupling and environmental adaptability design of electronic equipment, sensing and measurement, mechatronics in manufacturing and automations, energy harvesting & storage, robotics, automation and control systems. It includes papers based on original theoretical, practical and experimental simulations, development, applications, measurements, and testing. The applications and solutions discussed in the book provide excellent reference material for future product development.
This book aims to provide comprehensive pictures of ocular trauma illustrating signs, examinations and surgical procedures to clinical practitioners including the nurses, medical students, residents, fellows and ophthalmologists, and help them make the appropriate decision on the diagnosis and management of such patients. The first chapter gives a general introduction of ocular trauma which helps clinical practitioners generate the basic ideas of classification of ocular trauma and understand general principles of examination and first-aid management of such patients. The following chapters cover all types of ocular trauma with the comprehensive pictures combined with brief case studies. For...
This book intends to present emerging Federated Learning (FL)-based architectures, frameworks, and models in Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) applications. It intends to build on the basics of the healthcare industry, the current data sharing requirements, and security and privacy issues in medical data sharing. Once IoMT is presented, the book shifts towards the proposal of privacy-preservation in IoMT, and explains how FL presents a viable solution to these challenges. The claims are supported through lucid illustrations, tables, and examples that present effective and secured FL schemes, simulations, and practical discussion on use-case scenarios in a simple manner. The book intends to c...

Spanning antiquity until the present, Zhao Lu analyses the eclectic and fictitious representations of Confucius that have been widely celebrated by communities of people throughout history. While mainstream scholarship mostly considers Confucius in terms of his role as a celebrated man of wisdom and as a teacher with a humanistic worldview, Zhao addresses the weirder representations. He considers depictions of Confucius as a prophet, a fortune-teller, a powerful demon hunter, a shrewd villain of 19th century American newspapers, an embodiment of feudal evils in the Cultural Revolution, and as a cute friend. Zhao asks why some groups would risk contradicting the well-accepted image of Confucius with such representations and shows how these illustrations reflect the specific anxieties of these communities. He reveals not only how people across history perceived Confucius in diverse ways, but more importantly how they used Confucius in daily life, ranging from calming their anxiety about the future, to legitimizing a dynasty, stereotyping Chinese people, and even to forging a new sense of history.
