Joe Jordan, the world-class Scottish footballer who played for Leeds United, Manchester United, AC Milan and Verona, tells the story of his intense and inspirational career. Joe Jordan was one of many gifted and ambitious Scots who made the journey south to England and, ultimately, glory and success. He was part of the great tradition of Alex James, Denis Law and Graham Souness who laid siege to the England game. He played fifty-two times for his country and became the first Scot to score in three World Cups. When he moved from Leeds to Manchester United in 1978, his transfer fee of pound]350,000 broke the record for a deal between British clubs. He recaptures this fascinating era, where he had to endure the tough rites of passage involved in playing for the most successful and demanding teams in the world.

These are the recollections of "Ragtime Bob" Darch (1920-2002) told in his own words and transcribed by his longtime friend Steve Spracklen. Bob begins by recalling his life from childhood in Detroit through his college years and then service in World War II as an army paratrooper and in the Korean conflict as an Alaskan post engineer. Then he recounts his nearly six decades as an itinerant ragtime piano player sharing stories as only Bob could tell them of the many celebrities with whom he worked and the countless tales of his experiences "on the Ragtime Trail." Bob entertained his audiences with music and stories of ragtime, past and present. He was not encumbered by facts...he had a story to tell. Bob died in 2002 at the age of 82 and he is buried in Sedalia, Missouri where he often said his style of classic ragtime music began. March 31, 2020 marked the centennial of his birth and like he said of ragtime, Bob's legacy isn't dead, it isn't even sick.

Jordan's Return

Can one summer together be enough to heal old wounds? A quiet summer on the coast. That’s all Jordan Manning was looking for. After a near-fatal accident and finally breaking free from an abusive relationship, she was looking forward to time spent with her sons and healing her wounds—the physical and the emotional ones. But her plans are thrown off course when she runs into the last person she expected to see—the first man to ever break her heart. What they say about absence making the heart grow fonder is true. In all the time since he walked away from his first love, Rob Tyler never got over her, no matter how many times he tried to convince himself otherwise. When fate intervenes and makes their paths cross all these years later, Rob is determined to show Jordan that he’s the man for her—that this time he can give her the future they both wanted. **This book was previous released in 2011 and 2016**
