Growing up in 40s Britain was a lot different than it is today. No health and safety, no A&E, canings at school, sharp knives in Arts and Crafts. John Flint negotiated all of these hazards and more and managed an interesting early life into the bargain. Starting in the Peak District with a tough rural education spent on farms, John went on to the smoky industrialism of Rotherham before venturing out into the world courtesy of the RAF. A memory-laden read for those familiar with the period, an eye-opener for those who have grown up with safety shoes, goggles and warning signs, and can't believe anyone could survive without them.

A Genealogical Register of the Descendants of Thomas Flint, of Salem
Thomas Flint immigrated from Wales to Salem, Massachusetts before 1650 and possibly as early as 1642. He settled in Salem Village (now Danvers), Massachusetts and died in 1663.
