John Flynn is one of Australia's greatest folk heroes. His achievements are stuff of legend - no other Australian has had more monuments dedicated to him than John Flynn. Flynn established a network of cottage hospitals, flying doctors, patrol padres, welfare centres and radio transmitters to create a Mantle of Safety that would allow the Outback to be habitable for men, women and children.

A wonderfully illustrated and sumptuous collection of nursery rhymes for all ages, including many favorite rhymes as well as some that will be a delightful discovery. Originally published as The Cat and the Fiddle in 2011, this edition includes a new introduction by Jackie Morris--a spirited defense of the nursery rhyme, which she fears is in danger of being forgotten in a digital world. The beautiful and detailed watercolor paintings combine with more than 40 rhymes to make this a unique treasury and lifetime possession for children and adults of all ages.
While studying to be a minister, John Flynn longed to apply his training to help people in practical ways. Soon he discovered that his mission field was inside his own countrythe vast and dangerous outback, or Never Never, where life-and-death struggles were a constant reality. A man bursting with ideas and energy, John strove endlessly to support isolated bushmen through innovations in radio and flight. Serving as superintendent of the Australian Inland Mission and moderator general of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, he established desperately needed medical facilities and helped found the Flying Doctor Service. This national hero's lifelong efforts continue to touch lives across Australia (1880-1951).
Warrior. Patriot. Traitor? Jacques Fontaine always wanted to serve but he never expected to lead this band of brothers. Different nationalities, different languages, a collection of misfits. And the world's elite terrorist hunters. Sent to Iraq during the US drawdown on what appears to be a routine investigation, they find themselves under attack from insurgents, the military and unseen forces with widespread political connections. With their careers—if not their lives—under threat, Fontaine must lead his unit through the fire if this isn't to become their final tour of duty. Series praise: ★★★★★ “I read this book in one day!
