It's the year 2842, and teenager, Charlie Paige's, sister is stung by a mysterious, alien bug which renders her in a coma. Charlie learns that his sister will die in 72 hours if she is not given the "anti-venom." He must then travel to a far away galaxy, with a crew of quirky characters, to go on an intergalactic scavenger hunt which includes legends, relics, clues, and all sorts of unique beings and planets, all in hopes of saving his sister. It is a race against time; it is a story of great sacrifice; it is a space adventure that takes you to some of the most beautiful and dreadful places imaginable. This book is kind of like Star Wars meets The DaVinci Code... for kids.

Dave Reed works the midnight shift in the Message Watch Office at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia. On a lark, he and a coworker drive to Paw Paw, West Virginia, to investigate claims of strange, glowing objects in the sky. Reed and his coworker aren't the only ones interested in what's going on in Paw Paw. Lester Stone, a senior operations officer for a nameless, ultra-secret government project will be in Paw Paw on official project business-to do whatever it takes to diffuse the situation, and to make it look as if nothing out of the ordinary is happening in that little town. When Dave returns home from Paw Paw, he discovers that the FBI is waiting to interrogate him. Falsely accused of espionage and with no clue about the whereabouts of his coworker, Dave submits to a lie detector test and "polygraphic hypnosis." His story is practically impossible for his interrogators to believe, but the sensors attached to Dave's head and torso indicate that he has to be telling the truth.
In the second half of 1845 the focus of Polk's correspondence shifted from those issues relating, to the formation of his administration and distribution of party patronage to those that would give shape and consequence to his presidency: the admission of Texas, preparation for its defense, restoration of diplomatic relations with Mexico, and termination of joint occupancy of the Oregon Country. In addition to the texts, briefs, and annotations, the editors have calendared all of the documents for the last six months of 1845. Entries for unpublished letters include the documents' dates, addressees, classifications, repositories, and precis. The Polk Project is sponsored by the University of Tennessee and assisted by grants from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Tennessee Historical Commission.
