Systematic Mariology
This second volume of Collected Essays, Systematic Mariology, contains Peter Damian Fehlner’s essays on several central Marian topics and disputes. Written over the span of more than twenty years, these essays represent Fehlner’s most complete studies on the question of Mary’s participation with Christ in the redemption, her role with the Holy Spirit in the mediation of grace, and her place in the sacramental economy, flowing from the Eucharist. Fehlner provides theological resolutions to these inquiries by establishing Mary’s predestination as the Immaculate Mother of God and Spouse of the Holy Spirit in the eternal plan of the Father. This flowers into a theological vision of the divine missions that is Trinitarian, christological, and pneumatological. This triple viewpoint opens upon a theological account of divine action and perfect creaturely re-action because it is framed within an ecclesiology that decodes Mary’s virginal and divine maternity as the “Great Sign” of the perfection and promise of the church through Christ her spouse in the love of the Holy Spirit.

New Wine in New Wineskins
It is with a sense of gratitude and joy that I present to you the Final Document of the Plenary Council of the Order, which took place in Konstancin-Jeziorna, Poland, from November 17-30, 2013. Forty-three friars with active voice participated in this meeting, which took for its inspiration the challenge issued by Jesus to his disciples and to us, “New Wine, New Wineskins” (cf. Mt. 9, 17). This theme challenges us as an Order to seek always the voice of the Lord Jesus at work in our fraternities, which have as their central responsibility to build centers of fraternal communion so that both the individual friar and the fraternity might become living witnesses to the goodness and mercy of God at work in our midst, going about the world as lesser brothers of the Gospel.

Power of Sisterhood
In 2008, the Vatican Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life initiated an Apostolic Visitation to examine the quality of life of women religious in the United States. Power of Sisterhood: Women Religious Tell the Story of the Apostolic Visitation serves as an historical record of the event and describes the experience of the women who participated in it. This book, initiated by a group of women in leadership in their communities during this unprecedented time, grew out of a survey that gleaned the essence of the experience from as many congregations of women religious as possible. After framing the Visitation as a story, situating it in an historical and theological context, tracing its chronology, and detailing the experience as revealed in the survey, the book delves into the deeper meaning of the Visitation for women religious as they experienced it and as they move into the future.
