O presente e-book nasceu a partir de um Concurso de Poesias, atividade cultural proposta como Celebração do Aniversário de dois anos de existência do COLEI da FFP/UERJ (Coletivo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Infâncias e Educação Infantil). Assim, em Outubro comemoramos o nascimento do COLEI. Optamos por realizar um Concurso de Poesias (cujas inscrições ocorreram no mês de Setembro de 2020) e um Sarau Poético Virtual (ocorrido na tarde do dia 24 de outubro de 2020), para celebrar esse evento importante para nós, mesmo nesse contexto de Pandemia ocasionado pela COVID-19.

Nesta edição, a Metrópole Magazine traz um especial sobre alunos superdotados. Com a ajuda de especialistas vamos entender a complexidade deste tema. Parte das barreiras está no ambiente escolar, pois algumas instituições não possuem preparo para receber essas crianças. Segundo o Ministério da Educação, as escolas devem oferecer um plano de ensino individualizado para cada estudante superdotado, bem como criar espaços de interação para esses alunos. Em São José dos Campos há um cadastrado de superdotados com 856 estudantes, o que confere ao município a segunda colocação no país. Além do poder público, o Instituto Alpha Lumen faz sua parte.
