"Autour de la figure de la maternité aujourd'hui, peu de commentaire, peu de représentation. Curieusement ce passage essentiel, fondateur et fondamental, semble soigneusement laissé dans l'angle mort d'une société que la violation de l'intimité intimide pourtant peu. On ne saura croire au hasard. Plutôt au tabou. Et voilà pourquoi la toute dernière série de Katharina Bosse, où l'artiste se met en scène avec ses propres enfants, saisit, étonne, effraie, affole. Ode à la vie, elle apparaît cheveux aux vents, dansant une bacchanale, diaphane comme une déesse de Botticelli. Bestiale, on la retrouve à quatre pattes allaitant son petit comme la louve romaine Romulus et Rémus. Provocante, elle apparaît nue sous son manteau de fourrure, le sexe à l'air, ou, en bottes de cuir et maquillage outrancier, enceinte dans un champ de blé. Dérangeante et osée, cette nouvelle série de Katharina Bosse dévoile, non sans humour et sans audace, les multiples facettes d'un processus infiniment complexe et sous estimé : la naissance d'une mère. Fringe 2009
21 years ago it was a joint idea with Hans Rottenkolber to organize a workshop dedicated to the discussion of the latest results in the automatic processing of fringe patterns. This idea was promoted by the insight that automatic and high precision phase measurement techniques will play a key role in all future industrial and scientific applications of optical metrology. A couple of months later more than 50 specialists from East and West met in East Berlin, the capital of the former GDR, to spend 3 days with the discussion of new principles of fringe processing. In the stimulating atmoshere the idea was born to repeat the workshop and to organize the meeting in an olympic schedule. And thus...
Dramaturgies of War
This book examines the institutional contexts of dramaturgical practices in the changing political landscape of 20th century Germany. Through wide-ranging case studies, it discusses the way in which operationalised modes of action, legal frameworks and an established profession have shaped dramaturgical practice and thus links to current debates around the “institutional turn” in theatre and performance studies. German theatre represents a rich and well-chosen field as it is here where the role of the dramaturg was first created and where dramaturgy played a significantly politicised role in the changing political systems of the 20th century. The volume represents an important addition to a growing field of work on dramaturgy by contributing to a historical contextualisation of current practice. In doing so, it understands dramaturgy not only as a process which occurs in rehearsal rooms and writers’ studies, but one that has far wider institutional and political implications.
