The story of how the legendary lost ballet, 'The Rite of Spring' (Le Sacre du Printemps) was recreated by Millicent Hodson and Kenneth Archer, including a Spectator's Guide with stop-frame photographs by Shira Klasmer of the Polish National Ballet onstage in the reconstructed 'Rite', together with quotes by observers from the time so that readers can 'see' the ballet as they 'hear' the voices of 1913.
The Kenneth H. Gedney papers consist of personal correspondence and official documents from his service in the United States (U.S.) Army during World War I (WWI). The personal correspondence is written by Gedney and mostly addressed to "Folks." Gedney writes from Texas, France, and Germany regarding income tax, France, a portable shower, mail, anticipation of the end of WWI, Christmas, his weight gain, and sightseeing. There is one letter from J. Lynch to Mrs. Gedney, dated 2 January 1919, regarding how Kenneth Gedney is doing. The official documents include an application for a provisional second lieutenancy, letters of recommendation, a temporary appointment, and requests for the following: transfer to the aviation section, commission in the Regular U.S. Army, leave, transfer to the 89th Division, recommendation for cavalry service, and transfer to a tank regiment.
