The author was born in Madras in 1941. He was raised by his grandmother in Coimbatore where he attended Suburban middle school. He moved to Mylapore, Madras in 1952. He did his high schooling there and graduated S.S.L.C from P. S. High School in 1955. He was a member of the Children’s Club in VM street. He moved to Jamshedpur to be with his parents. He joined Kamachha in Banaras for his Intermediate Science in 1956, then graduated from Banaras Engineering college in 1962 as a Mechanical Engineer. Progress in Mycology
Indian mycologists have extensively studied various groups of fungi such as soil fungi, aquatic fungi, marine fungi, endophytic fungi, fungi associated with man and animals. Though several books on various aspects of fungi are published, this is the first account of the history and developments in mycology in India.
