Heartache to Happiness

Heartache to Happiness By: Penny L. Freeman Kelsi grew up in a small town surrounded by friends and a loving family. In just one night, that all changed. Her father (Detective Anderson) and her mother were killed by a drug lord. This left Kelsi all alone, except for the child she carried. When the news strikes, reporting that Kelsi might have killed her parents, she is on the run and in hiding from the police and the drug lord. Once the baby is born, Kelsi begins her own investigation of the murders, but there is more heartache for her to endure. After the drug lord kidnaps her baby she spends her days hiding in her cave and her nights walking the streets. She is determined to finally get close enough to gather evidence against the drug lord. Heartache to Happiness is full of love and hate, life and death, revenge and mystery, and then more love. Will Kelsi find the happiness she longs for?

Muhammad Ali, James Brown, Al Green, and other celebrities made cameo appearances in the autobiography of author, Anthony L. Freeman, which is also a history of our times. Vignettes seem to be apparent in the reflector glasses worn by the author, a fast-moving young man bent on realizing a successful career as a vocalist. As a young black child growing up in Atlanta, Anthony suffered a childhood that was marred by accidental violence, even as his country suffered from the more intentional violence and injury, with the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The author’s life was highlighted by danger and glamour, and the narrative culminates in the march on Forsyth County, a major civil rights march in Georgia in which the author served as a marshal on January 19, 1987. Written by an author with a narrative gift and a very readable style, Lust and Vainglory: A Close Encounter with Death and Success describes the forces and events that shaped the author’s life. Even though the author knew fear at various times of his life, he never allowed it to impede his progress.

Ambushed: an Uplifting Story by a Determined Man

Can I have hope in what appears to be a hopeless situation? Is the question confronting a vast number of Christians today. As Christians, we know all of the right words to say when an unexpected storm enters our life, but living what we profess becomes a challenge when it appears that God is not hearing our prayers. I have learned that it is easy to trust God when life is going well. However, can we trust Him when we find ourselves in the midst of a storm and Jesus appears to be sleeping? As such, the ultimate purpose of this book is to encourage others that they must never allow their situation to cause them to give up on God, because God doesnt give up on us. Therefore, it is because of the life of Christ and this situation that I have transitioned from asking Why me? to Why not me?
