La docencia de apoyo para la inclusión y la accesibilidad educativa
La Convención de los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad y otras normativas entienden la educación inclusiva como una instancia superadora de la integración escolar que abarca transformaciones institucionales y formativas de las escuelas comunes y revoluciona sus prácticas tradicionales. En este contexto aparece el rol del docente de apoyo a la inclusión. Sobre su figura recaen las tareas que podían entreverse durante las experiencias de integración escolar y se han agregado otras. En función de los resultados en los aprendizajes, de las condiciones que se revelan como obstáculos o barreras de los entornos y necesidades educativas efectivas de los y las estudiantes, se estructuran proyectos que otorgan sustento legal a la participación del docente de apoyo a la inclusión. En este texto abordamos las características que asume el apoyo a la inclusión educativa desde la mirada de sus participantes para recuperar las intervenciones y acciones que se realizan creando una trama, que es educativa e institucional, pero también simbólica y comunitaria.

Improving Palliative Care
As a society, we have made amazing gains in being able to detect and treat cancer. Even so, about half the people who are told by their doctors that they have cancer will die within a few years. This means that every year about one million people find out that they have cancer and are treated, and about one-half million people die of cancer nationwide. So far, most cancer research and treatment has focused on trying to cure cancer. There hasn't been much attention paid to other important issues, such as pain control and taking care of other troubling symptoms. Now more and more people are aware that there are cancer care needs beyond just trying to cure it. Attention is now being paid to helping people with cancer cope better with the problems that may arise when people are being treated or as they approach death.
Challenges and Opportunities for Respiratory Syncytial Virus Vaccines
Although respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) has been a high priority for vaccine development for over 50 years now, still no vaccine is available and none has yet demonstrated sufficient promise to move to licensure. The success of RSV immune prophylaxis and the availability of ever more powerful tools to study the immune response and pathogenesis of disease, combined with the ability to construct a wide variety of vaccines using different vaccine platforms, give us grounds to believe that an RSV vaccine is within reach. This book brings together in one source what is currently known about the virus: its clinical and epidemiologic features; the host response and pathogenesis of the disease; vaccines, vaccine platforms, and treatment; and animal and tissue culture models of RSV infection. It is designed to organize the critical information relevant to RSV vaccine development, facilitate the assimilation of data, and speed progress toward producing a safe and effective vaccine.
