Die Pflegekatastrophe kommt gleich nach der Klimakatastrophe 6 Millionen Pflegebedürftige werden für 2030 erwartet, voraussichtlich fehlen dann 500.000 Pflegekräfte. Der deutsche Pflegerat fordert ein Einstiegsgehalt für Pflegekräfte von 4.000 Euro, aber schon jetzt kann kaum jemand einen Platz im Pflegeheim selbst bezahlen. Und mit Geld allein wird sich die Pflegekatastrophe nicht abwenden lassen, davon sind Reimer Gronemeyer und Oliver Schultz überzeugt. Die Pflege braucht einen Aufbruch. Das Zukunftsszenario, das uns sonst erwartet, ist ernüchternd: Eine ambulante und stationäre Pflege, die – hoch subventioniert – pflegebedürftige Alte in sozial entkernten Arealen professionell versorgt.
