Eighth in a series of annual reports comparing business regulations in 183 economies, Doing Business 2011 measures regulations affecting 10 areas of everyday business activity: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, employing workers, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and closing a business. The report updates all 10 sets of indicators, ranks countries on their overall ease of doing business and analyzes reforms to business regulation- identifying which countries are improving strengthening their business environment the most and which ones slipped. Doing Business 2011 includes results on the ongoing research in the area of "getting electricity" and illustrates how reforms in business regulations can translate into better outcomes for domestic entrepreneurs and the wider economy. It also focuses on how women in particular are affected by complex business regulations.

El pensamiento jurídico de Radbruch ocupa de nuevo un lugar privilegiado en la discusión en la filosofía del derecho. Su actualidad se basa en dos desarrollos aparentemente contradictorios de la filosofía jurídica reciente. Por un lado, está la recuperación de la dimensión material del discurso jurídico —tras una fase analítica centrada en la lógica y la filosofía de la ciencia—. Por otro lado, la consolidación de la idea de que un retorno a una ley natural ontológicamente entendida seria epistemologicamente insostenible. En sus contribuciones, Ulfrid Neumann se propone mostrar cómo Radbruch logra conciliar la critica epistemológica y la orientación de valores en el derecho, a través de una comprensión neokantiana de dicha orientación y de la yuxtaposición de la filosofía teórica y práctica. En ninguna fase de su pensamiento jurídico se puede calificar a Radbruch simplemente como un iuspositivista o un iusnaturalista.
Esta compilación presenta cuatro artículos que pueden considerarse preparatorios o complementarios de la principal obra de Niklas Luhmann sobre sociología del derecho, El derecho de la sociedad (Das Recht der Gesellschafty), publicada originalmente en 1993. A su vez, los cuatro ensayos son posteriores al llamado "giro autopoiético" consumado por Luhmann a partir de 1984 con la publicación de Sistemas sociales (Soziale Systeme). En esta obra, el sociólogo alemán reexpone de manera completa su teoría general de los sistemas sociales autorreferentes con carácter autopoiético. Los artículos que acá se ponen a disposición en español dan cuenta de este desarrollo teórico al tiempo que explican importantes aspectos de la concepción del derecho como subsistema social autorreferente que se constituye por medio de comunicaciones jurídicas y que cumple una función determinada en la sociedad.
