When the glamorous Grosvenor sisters arrive in the exclusive Hamptons beach town of Little Elbow, all eyes are on them. Gorgeous Grace and Charming Charity are soon favourites on everybody's guest-list. Except that of their neighbour, Marcella Hunter. Heiress Marcella doesn't want the competition and when Grace starts dating the dull but extraordinarily rich Choate Fitzgerald - someone Marcella has had her eye on - the gloves are off. Marcella determines to find out where the sisters really came from. And exactly how they can afford to rent a six-bedroom beach house in this millionaires' playground. In the process, however, it becomes clear quite a few of the people spending the summer in Little Elbow are not what they seem . . . The Order of Christ Sophia (OCS) is a small New Religion which in the short span of eight years, has evoked intense controversy. Rarely does a body of work such as this, one that encompasses a variety of topics that applies to a wide array of readers, show up on bookshelves. Father Peter Bowes takes the reader through subjects ranging from the mystical to the practical, exploring and uncovering themes that challenge and apply to the sophisticated modern-day seeker - and all presented in a comprehensible way. Father Peter's ease with words and intensity of heart pierces through any concepts one may have about a Teacher. In 'Pearls of a Fisherman, ' he reaches in to matters of the soul and brings truth out.
The province of Grosseto in southern Tuscany shows two extremes in the treatment of Italian and foreign Jews during the Holocaust. To the east of the province, the Jews of Pitigliano, a four hundred-year-old community, were hidden for almost a year by sympathetic farmers in barns and caves. None of those in hiding were arrested and all survived the Fascist hunt for Jews. In the west, near the provincial capital of Grosseto, almost a hundred Italian and foreign Jews were imprisoned in 1943–1944 in the bishop's seminary, which he had rented to the Fascists for that purpose. About half of them, though they had thought that the bishop would protect them, were deported with his knowledge by Fascists and Nazis to Auschwitz. Thus, the Holocaust reached into this provincial corner as it did into all parts of Italy still under Italian Fascist control. This book is based on new interviews and research in local and national archives.

As part of this festival, we asked business women in the UK and Australia to send in blogs, which were published one a day during the month of March. I kept the scope very wide - blog about anything t...
