L'autre dans ses oeuvres : de l'en-deça à l'au-delà
Dans une époque qui a perdu le sens profond du mystère et du sacré, qui a rompu avec les puissances occultes de la vie, qui ne sait plus lire ses mots-signes, cette ouverture à un au-delà, – qui peut s'étendre plus loin, ou après, ou de l'autre côté –, nous paraît mériter toute notre attention. Ce dépassement qui conduit à la découverte du territoire du tout autre mais tellement sien, engendré par une psyché qui est loin d'avoir révélé toutes ses capacités d'expression, nourri d'unŠhéritage à caractère largement collectif, fondé sur un substrat innervé de motifs légendaires, de croyances, plongeant leurs racines en des codes, en des rituels, en des pratiques, tout à la fois sociaux, religieux, écrits/inscrits en des systèmes complexes, ce dépassement est aussi le signe de la capacité fabulatrice inhérente à l'homme et plus particulièrement à l'écrivain.
Femme et écriture dans la péninsule ibérique
Objet d'un Colloque International organisé par l'Université de Pau, cet ouvrage, outre le problème de l'auteur féminin et son statut sociologique parfois ambigu, explore la question des relations entre femme et écriture, entre identité féminine et acte d'écriture, et ce, dans la littérature portugaise et espagnole du XIXème et XXème siècle. Ces rapports peuvent s'articuler autour de trois axes : tout d'abord la femme en tant qu'auteur, et l'orientation souvent identitaire de ses écrits ; puis la femme en tant "qu'objet d'écriture" que ce soit celui d'un auteur féminin ou masculin, et enfin, la femme en tant que lectrice.

A Reformulation-Linearization Technique for Solving Discrete and Continuous Nonconvex Problems
This book deals with the theory and applications of the Reformulation- Linearization/Convexification Technique (RL T) for solving nonconvex optimization problems. A unified treatment of discrete and continuous nonconvex programming problems is presented using this approach. The Metabolism of Islands
This book makes the case for why we should care about islands and their sustainability. Islands are hotspots of biocultural diversity and home to 600 million people that depend on one-sixth of the earth’s total area, including the surrounding oceans, for their subsistence. Today, they are at the frontlines of climate change and face an existential crisis. Islands are, however, potential “hubs of innovation” that are uniquely positioned to be leaders in sustainability and climate action. This volume argues that a full-fledged program on “island industrial ecology” is urgently needed, with the aim of offering policy-relevant insights and strategies to sustain small islands in an era of global environmental change. The nine contributions in this volume cover a wide range of applications of socio-metabolic research, from flow accounts to stock analysis and their relationship to services in space and time. They offer insights into how reconfiguring patterns of resource use will allow island governments to build resilience and adapt to the challenges of climate change.
Organizing Smart Buildings and Cities
The United Nations included sustainable cities and communities in its 2030 SDGs. Cities and, on a smaller scale, neighborhoods, building managers and firms are now adopting technologies and information systems to help achieve the energy, economic, social and environmental transition.
