Quantum Mechanics with Non-Unitary Symmetries

This book shows that with minimal modifications of postulates of non-relativistic quantum mechanics to allow for non-unitary representations of symmetry groups (Lorentz group in particular), one achieves a fully relativistic quantum theory without any of the issues (like negative energies, etc.) that led to the second quantization and QFT. It is shown that quite a few phenomena in elementary particle physics (like for example neutral kaon mixing, CP symmetry and it's supposed breaking) can be explained purely as a consequence of relativistic invariance and relativistic invariance alone. It is shown that by categorizing mesons via the representation of Lorentz group they belong to, one can ex...

Courageous Leadership

Courageous Leadership: The Missing Link to Creating a Lean Culture of Excellence is one of the firsts of its kind to wade through the confusion among leaders on selecting the type of change approach that will get the best results in their organization. It educates the senior executive leaders and organizational excellence practitioners on the different characteristics of change and answers why the approach to incremental and transitional change cannot deliver the results expected from a transformational change. The author shares his experiences from leading several small and large scale organization transformations in multiple industries across different countries on how to establish a robus...

The Library Dragon

The Library Dragon

A funny, playful salute to the power and importance of books from New York Times best-selling author Carmen Agra Deedy. When Sunrise Elementary School advertised for a thick-skinned librarian with a burning love of books, Miss Lotta Scales knew she was perfect for the job. Who could guard books better than a REAL dragon? Yet when she won't let any of the children take a book from the shelves, the teachers form a delegation. Not even sweet Miss Lemon can convince Miss Lotta Scales that "the library belongs to the children." Fortunately, when nearsighted Molly Brickmeyer stumbles onto a copy of Snuff the Magic Dragon and reads the tale out loud, her storytelling beckons the children back to the library and brings them face to face with the Library Dragon. Can an open book temper the flames of the school's hotheaded librarian? Filled with clever dragon puns, this is an entertaining story, now available in an audio edition, about the power and importance of books for both children and adults.

The Yellow Star

This powerful and dignified story of heroic justice is a story for all people and all times. The book tells the legend of King Christian X of Denmark. The ruling of the Nazis that all Danish jews would have to display a yellow star on their clothes frightened the Danes and their King. He sought for guidance in the starry night sky, and came up with a very simple answer. Everyone, himself included, would wear a yellow star. The book's focused and simplified approach allows children to be exposed to an unpleasant subject without feeling threatened. The seamless interaction between the illustrations and the text make this a fascinating and thought-provoking piece of work.

14 Cows for America

This New York Times bestseller recounts the true story of the touching gift bestowed on the US by the Maasai people in the wake of the September 11 attacks. In June of 2002, a mere nine months since the September 11 attacks, a very unusual ceremony begins in a far-flung village in western Kenya. An American diplomat is surrounded by hundreds of Maasai people. A gift is about to be bestowed upon the American men, women, and children, and he is there to accept it. The gift is as unexpected as it is extraordinary. Hearts are raw as these legendary Maasai warriors offer their gift to a grieving people half a world away. Word of the gift will travel newswires around the globe, and for the heartsick American nation, the gift of fourteen cows emerges from the choking dust and darkness as a soft light of hopeā€•and friendship. With stunning paintings from Thomas Gonzalez, master storyteller Carmen Agra Deedy (in collaboration with Naiyomah) hits all the right notes in this elegant story of generosity that crosses boundaries, nations, and cultures.
