Smlednik Castle
Modern science started studying the Smlednik Castle over a century and a half ago. However, what might be even more important is the fact that more or less intense conservation works have been carried out at this location for over half a century. Regardless of this there is almost no expert literature on the castle to be found: short papers can be counted on the fingers of one hand, while monograph publications are sought in vain. The situation regarding contributions that promotes cultural heritage is somewhat better. Začetek in konec raziskovanj grobišča pri Župni cerkvi v Kranju (1953 in 2011−2013) / The beginnning and end of exploration at the Župna cerkev cemetery in Kranj (1953 and 2011−2013)
It was in the spring of 1953 when digging pits to plant trees in front of the Prešeren’s Theatre in Kranj revealed some graves. Extensive excavations followed, led by Jože Kastelic and Vinko Šribar from the National Museum. 308 graves were excavated: 15 were recognised as the so-called (later) "Baroque" graves and 293 as "Ketlach", that is Early Medieval ones. The finds were first stored in the National Museum in Ljubljana, and later moved to the Gorenjski museum in Kranj, while all the documentation remained in Ljubljana. Arheološka raziskovanja grobov najdišča Župna cerkev v Kranju med letoma 1972 in 2010
Šestdesetletna izkopavanja (od 1953 do 2013) grobišča Župna cerkev v Kranju so odkrila skoraj 3000 grobov. V pričujoči monografiji je predstavljenih 1048 grobov, ki so jih našli med letoma 1972 in 2010. Izkopavanja je najprej (1972 in 1973, 862 grobov) vodil kustos Gorenjskega muzeja Andrej Valič, nato Milan Sagadin z ZVKD Kranj (od 1984 do 2001, 163 grobov), nazadnje pa Draško Josipovič (Magelan Skupina, d. o. o., od 2003 do 2010, 23 grobov). Obsežno poglavje predstavljajo vsi tisti predmeti z grobišča Kranj – Župna cerkev, ki nimajo podatkov o mestu najdbe. Pestra dokumentacija, ki se je z leti spreminjala, je osnova za objavo vseh dosegljivih podatkov o grobovih in predmetih, ki jih hrani Gorenjski muzej v Kranju. Uvodni del obsega študijo o naravi podatkov in opozorila na morebitne neskladnosti med različnimi tipi dokumentacije. Prvenstveno se ukvarja z vprašanjem zanesljivosti grobnih celot, kar je podlaga za vse nadaljnje analize.

Nove razvojne perspektive
Četrta knjiga v zbirki v prvi vrsti obravnava razvoj podeželja. Med številnimi temami, ki so jih predstavili sodelujoči avtorji, še posebej izstopajo štiri: kulturna dediščina, turizem, (ekološko) kmetijstvo in okolje. Uspešni in poučni primeri razvojnih praks na podeželju imajo ne glede na področje skupno točko. To je aktivacija lokalnih skupnosti s pomočjo participativnega pristopa, bodisi na področju kulturnega turizma, socialnega podjetništva, upravljanja z vodnimi viri ali oživitve vaškega življenja. V knjigi so tudi širše teme, ki presegajo podeželski značaj: pojasnjevanje razvojnih razlik v Sloveniji, regionalne razlike v poklicni sestavi kot strukturni dejavnik slovenskega gospodarstva, vprašanje prožnosti prostorskih sistemov ter novosti na področju prikazovanja geostatistik. Zazrli smo se še v prihodnost − v pripravo strateških in programskih dokumentov za novo razvojno perspektivo 2014−2020.
