Este libro desarrolla la magnitud y el comportamiento del dolor crónico, da cuenta de la complejidad de este fenómenos social. El dolor no sólo es provocado por las lesiones tisulares, sino la afectación de la subjetividad emocional, que deviene en un drama social, vivencias condicionadas por tensiones sociales, económicas, familiares y de pareja, síntomas y signos entretejidos con el sufrimiento, por lo que se hace necesaria una comprensión integral de las personas.
