The Shift

The world has changed – but thankfully so have we. The Shift: Poetry for a New Perspective embodies the best of who we are now. From Melody Godfred, author of Self Love Poetry: for Thinkers & Feelers, comes a collection of poems designed to reframe how we see and move through this brave new, post-pandemic world. Each pair of poems inspires a shift from the old way of thinking to the new: from guilt to gratitude, resistance to surrender, and fear to love. The left side of every spread is dedicated to the old way. The right side offers a shift in perspective that lovingly illuminates the new. Each seemingly simple poem instantly elicits a profound reset, and is coupled with beautiful line drawings that awaken not just the mind, but also the heart. The Shift’s unique poem pairings uplift the soul by offering a hopeful salve for our collective burnout. Whether you read a pair of poems a day, or consume the entire book in one sitting, The Shift will be your trusted companion as you bravely navigate the great unknown that lies ahead in the months, years and decades to come.

Cosmic Affection is a collection of poems inspired by the unconventional youth along with unhindered ideas about closure. The poet calls herself an 'artistic chaos’ and her poetry helps her live upto that. She talks about her emotions as raw as they come and works towards spiking the lives of her readers with nothing but the truth. She uses imagery and attempts at painting a picture that may seem more honest than reality itself. Her work is inspired by the basic nature of human beings as she struggles with the notion of convenience in people’s lives. In the end it all comes down to the reader, as the poet requests all to practice self love and be forever grateful for the mere accessories of life.

Artists Authors Thinkers Directors

A self-portrait through one hundred portraits, Artists Authors Thinkers Directors explores cartoonist Paul Hornschemeier’s sketchbook renderings of those who shaped his (and many others’) artistic views. Culled from his drawing blog ― The Daily Forlorn, now one of Tumblr’s featured illustration blogs, adding thousands of new followers every week ― these portraits are as stylistically varied as the subjects they portray. A scrawled, single line drawing of Lenny Bruce shares space with a triangular Werner Heisenberg. A monochromatic, stippled Stanley Kubrick stares intently at a muppetheaded Frank Oz. Each turn of the page offers a new take on a familiar face. In the afterword, Hornschemeier includes brief notes on each portrait and that creator’s particular work or insight that spoke specifically to him. And in that specificity, much of what is universally affecting in each creator shines through. Hornschemeier’s graphic novels hop from one aesthetic to the next, varying the line and color quality to depict his narrative’s mood. He plays with the language of comics. In these portraits we can clearly see him hard at experimentation, adding to his vocabulary.
