Mechanism Design and Internatioal Risk Regulation Institutions

Financial crises, including those related to sub-prime loans/mortgages, have exposed weaknesses in financial markets and risk management institutions worldwide. In 'Mechanism Design and International Risk Regulation Institutions', Mike Nwogugu explains that 'Risk Management Institutions' in this context refers not just to organizations, but also to methods, assets/liabilities, mathematical computations, government interventions and regulations that pertain to global risk management.

Illegal online file sharing costs companies tens of billions of dollars of lost revenues around the world annually and results in lost productivity, various psychological issues, and significant reduction of incentives to create and innovate. Legislative, technical, and enforcement efforts have failed. This book presents psychological theories about why people illegally share files online; analyzes and characterizes optimal sanctions for illegal online file sharing; introduces new models for pricing of network-access and digital-content to help reduce illegal online file sharing; introduces new content control and P2P systems; and explains why game theory does not work in pricing of network access.

Risk in the Global Real Estate Market

Essential reading for professional investors, risk managers, regulators, central bankers, and real estate professionals, Risk in the Global Real Estate Market: International Risk Regulation, Mechanism Design, Foreclosures, Title Systems, and REITs takes an international look at the ways in which U.S.-style constitutional laws, financial laws, and real estate laws in various countries affect global economics and risk; and analyzes specific constraints that deter market development such as Asset Liability Matching, inappropriate financial products, land title systems, inefficient constitutions and human biases. The sub-prime mortgage crisis (that began around 2006) and the Global Financial Cri...

Liptai, Németh, et. al. (2020) supposedly proved that in the diophantine equation (3^a-1)(3^b-1)=(5^c-1)(5^d-1) in positive integers and where a≤b and c≤d, the only solution to the title equation is (a,b,c,d)=(1,2,1,1). This article analyzes the Complexity of, and introduces properties of the equations (3^a-1)(3^b-1)=(5^c-1)(5^d-1) and g^u=f^v, new “Existence Conditions”, new theories of “Rational Equivalence”, and a new theorem pertaining to the equation gu=fv. The class of equations of the type [(X^a-1)(X^b-1)=(Y^c-1)(Y^d-1)] (the “Rational-Equivalence Equation”) includes the equation (3^a-1)(3^b-1)=(5^c-1)(5^d-1). This article also introduces simple Java codes for finding solutions to this class of equations for positive-integers up to (10)^1677721600000000 (and even greater positive-integers depending on available computing power).

The equation x^a+y^b+z^c=m in real numbers represents a group of Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems, is an ill-posed problem and can be used in physical sciences and social sciences. This article introduces some Equivalence-Conditions, Existence-Conditions and properties of xa+yb+zc=m in real numbers, and also defines “m-Stability”, a new measure of Stability of nonlinear equations. This article also introduces simple Java codes that can be used to verify Theorem-1 herein, and for finding feasible solutions for (x,y,z,a,b,c) in the Equation [(x^a+y^b+z^c)=m, for Integers in the interval: (-10^1677721600000000)

Bankruptcy prediction is one of the most important research areas in corporate finance. Bankruptcies are an indispensable element of the functioning of the market economy, and at the same time generate significant losses for stakeholders. Hence, this book was established to collect the results of research on the latest trends in predicting the bankruptcy of enterprises. It suggests models developed for different countries using both traditional and more advanced methods. Problems connected with predicting bankruptcy during periods of prosperity and recession, the selection of appropriate explanatory variables, as well as the dynamization of models are presented. The reliability of financial data and the validity of the audit are also referenced. Thus, I hope that this book will inspire you to undertake new research in the field of forecasting the risk of bankruptcy.
