Pewarna alami adalah zat warna alami (pigmen) yang diperoleh dari tumbuh-tumbuhan. Buah naga merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) adalah salah satu jenis tanaman kaktus yang sangat potensial sebagai tanaman hias dan buah yang dapat dimakan. Kulit buah naga diketahui mengandung alkaloid, terpenoid, flavonoid, tiamin, fenolik, fitoalbumin, betalain, fenilpropanoid, triterpen, sterol, asam lemak yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pewarna alami. Berdasar hal itu, pusat pelayanan kesehatan yang sulit mendapatkan atau kehabisan reagensia eosin dapat menggunakan alternatif limbah kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus pyrhyzus) untuk pemeriksaan telur cacing (Hookworm). Buku ini akan membahas pemanfaatan limbah kulit buah naga (Hylocereus pyrhyzus) sebagai pewarna alternatif pada pewarnaan telur cacing tambang (Hookworm). Buku ini juga akan menjelaskan kandungan yang dimiliki buah naga dan beberapa macam telur cacing yang dapat menginfeksi manusia. Harapannya, limbah kulit buah naga merah berpotensi untuk pemeriksaan telur cacing (Hookworm) sehingga dapat dijadikan pengganti reagensia eosin.
