NATIONAL PROGRAMMES ON NUTRITION
The Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have started a fellowship course in Public Health Nutrition in 2019. The need for such a course in the present time is timely, apt and in keeping with the need of the hour. The course proposes to give the students a broad-based view of public health nutrition and envisages to give them the requisite skills to have a career in this specialty and will serve as a value addition to those who already have a career in public health. I congratulate the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine of AIIMS Bhubaneswar for meticulously preparing the course content which will facilitate training and be a source of quick reference for the students not just during the training period but also later on in their career.

Biological treatment of wastewater is a low-cost solution for remediation of wastewater. This book focuses on the bioremediation of wastewater, its management, monitoring, role of biofilms on wastewater treatment and energy recovery. It emphasizes on organic, inorganic and micropollutants entering into the environment after conventional wastewater treatment facilities of industrial, agricultural and domestic wastewaters. The occurrence of persistent pollutants poses deleterious effects on human and environmental health. Simple solution for recovery of energy as well as water during biological treatment of wastewater is a viable option.
