INFANT AND YOUNG CHILD FEEDING PRACTICES

Odisha has shown progress in many indicators but under-nutrition including hidden hunger still stands as a challenge for the State. Undernutrition is a leading contributor to infant, child and maternal mortality and morbidity. Since malnutrition is indirectly responsible for 69% of child deaths in the country, it is extremely crucial to focus on improving maternal and child nutrition for ensuring their survival and development. My heartfelt congratulations to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for rolling out a Fellowship Course on Public Health Nutrition through RCAPHN in such a record time. Over the years significantly effective strategies and programmes have been formulated and implemented which have sta...

NATIONAL PROGRAMMES ON NUTRITION

The Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have started a fellowship course in Public Health Nutrition in 2019. The need for such a course in the present time is timely, apt and in keeping with the need of the hour. The course proposes to give the students a broad-based view of public health nutrition and envisages to give them the requisite skills to have a career in this specialty and will serve as a value addition to those who already have a career in public health. I congratulate the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine of AIIMS Bhubaneswar for meticulously preparing the course content which will facilitate training and be a source of quick reference for the students not just during the training period but also later on in their career.

Life- A Blooming Bud

This book is a conglomeration of my different writings, which includes both stories and poems as well. This book represents the different experiences and adventures of one during different stages of his or her life. The book contains stories and poetry written for all age groups; children, adolescents, adults and elderly people. The book also caters to people of different tastes. This book provides prose for the prose lovers along with an opportunity to enjoy poetry and vice-versa. Even the illustrations in the book not only would provide happiness to the young readers but also to others within whom the little child still feels excited and happy to look at the pictures side by side as they read through the book. I tried my best to cover the entire life cycle, the journey of a human being through different phases.
