This book is unique in its approach to the Qur'an. It argues the point that only God could author such a book, and that Muhammad could have never produced anything like it. While this objective has been attempted by several Muslim scholars who highlighted one aspect or another of the topics highlighted in the Qur'an, Dr. Draz's works is perhaps the first that relies totally on the merits of the Qur'anic text for an irrefutable proof. Dr. Draz discusses the arguments made at the time of the Prophet and later on which suggested that the Qur'an was taught to Muhammad by various teachers, and shows how they all collapse at the first test. When he has irrefutably established the fact that the Qur...
This book is a compendium of the speeches and interviews of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, who reigned as Prime Minister of the State of Jammu and Kashmir from 1948 to 1953, and who was a large presence on the political landscape of India for fifty years. The volume is designed to enable a student of South Asian politics, and the politics of Kashmir in particular, to analyze the ways in which experiences have been constructed historically and have changed overtime.
The involvement of African Americans with Islam reaches back to the earliest days of the African presence in North America. This book explores these roots in the Middle East, West Africa and antebellum America.
Humans today are in the midst of an 'info-biotech' revolution. The ensuing results may be good in the long run, perhaps with adverse side effects. Nations on earth, however, are attempting to polarise; powerful politicians agree to disagree. Thus, there is underlying fear and suspicion, leading, I am afraid, to a potential misapprehension. Certainly not a good sign in a multicultural, multi-religious and secular society of our earth - a large global village. It is time to stop and think. We have a moral responsibility to our children's children and beyond. Yes, there are and should be differences of culture, ethnicity and religion. Nature around us is orderly and beautiful. There is no flaw ...

This book presents the views of leading scholars, academics, and educators on the renewal of Islamic schools in the Western context. The book argues that as Islamic schools in Western contexts have negotiated the establishment phase they must next embrace a period of renewal. Renewal relates to a purposeful synthesis of the tradition with contemporary educational practice and greater emphasis on empirical research substantiating best practices in Islamic schools. This renewal must reflect teaching and learning practices consistent with an Islamic worldview and pedagogy. It should also inform, among other aspects, classroom management models, and relevant and contextual Islamic and Arabic studies. This book acquaints the reader with contemporary challenges and opportunities in Islamic schools in the Western context with a focus on Australia.
For the first time in English we hereby present a complete translation of 'Khatam an-Nubuwat' by Professor Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Mas'ari. This unique single-volume compendium details the conclusive evidences which establish with certitude that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the seal of Prophethood. These decisive proofs, from the Qur'an, the Prophetic Sunnah as well as linguistics, are set out in a lucid masterful analysis. Given the sheer weight of evidence presented, it becomes abundantly clear that to deny this crucial tenet of Islam would constitute a denial of his Prophetic mission altogether. The Renascence Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to help revive, reinvigorate and stimulate contemporary Islamic thought.
First multi-year cumulation covers six years: 1965-70.
Muhammad: What can we really know about him? We know a great deal about Muhammad—or so it seems. Islamic tradition contains an astonishing wealth of information about the founding figure of the Islamic faith, and most historians take for granted that this material is generally reliable. In his latest book, historian and Islamic scholar Robert Spencer shows that there is no agreement in the earliest Islamic sources about the most fundamental details of this towering figure’s life. There are conflicting accounts of key details of his life, including the circumstances and contents of the first revelation he claimed to have received from Allah; the year of his birth; the length of his prophe...
