Women, Business and the Law 2021 is the seventh in a series of annual studies measuring the laws and regulations that affect women’s economic opportunity in 190 economies. In the Enchantment of the birdies - songs to chant, dance, play, and frolic is an audiovisual book, with many songs, paintings, and birds. The beauty of the songs of Brazilian birds became the theme for this artistic project, composed of watercolors by Solange Lopes, texts by Ilza Zenker Joly, and arrangements and scores by Lucas Joly and Vinicius Sampaio. Thus, there are songs from Brazilian popular culture, musical arrangements that gave new colors and rhythms to these songs, as well as beautiful illustrations that help to get to know the protagonists of the book better: the birdies. Each small chapter addresses a song, brings the score, the illustration of the bird, and even information about the musical style, about the habits of the bird, and suggests an activity to be developed with the song. The songs are interpreted by artists from São Carlos and the region. It is a book for children, teens, adults, parents, grandparents, and educators. Climate Change and Cities
Urban areas are home to over half the world's people and are at the forefront of the climate change issue. Intuition in Science and Mathematics
In writing the present book I have had in mind the following objectives: - To propose a theoretical, comprehensive view of the domain of intuition. - To identify and organize the experimental findings related to intuition scattered in a wide variety of research contexts. - To reveal the educational implications of the idea, developed for science and mathematics education. Most of the existing monographs in the field of intuition are mainly concerned with theoretical debates - definitions, philosophical attitudes, historical considerations. (See, especially the works of Wild (1938), of Bunge (1 962) and of Noddings and Shore (1 984).) A notable exception is the book by Westcott (1968), which combines theoretical analyses with the author’s own experimental studies. But, so far, no attempt has been made to identify systematically those findings, spread throughout the research literature, which could contribute to the deciphering of the mechanisms of intuition. Very often the relevant studies do not refer explicitly to intuition. Even when this term is used it occurs, usually, as a self-evident, common sense term.
