Rhythm in late-modern Stockholm
Stockholm, an iconically late-modern city, is home to Europe's first-known multiethnolect - Rinkeby Swedish. Swedish-language researchers describe the variety as staccato, but rhythm has not been thoroughly investigated for any variety of Stockholm Swedish to date. Not only does this study show that rhythm stratifies in the direction of staccato (low alternation) for the racialized working class, rhythm is also significantly high-alternation/non-staccato in the speech of the white working class. Kentucky Soldiers of the War of 1812
Here is the primary reference source for the names and service records of upwards of 20,000 Kentucky soldiers and officers, both regular and militia, who served in the War of 1812. The muster rolls are laid out in tabular format by regiment and company, and thereunder the names are arranged by rank, with records of dates of appointment or enlistment and remarks such as when discharged, deceased, etc. As the official roster, this work was ordered to be compiled and printed by an Act of the Kentucky General Assembly, the number not to exceed 300 copies. The original records are now in the custody of the Kentucky Military Department, Frankfurt. To the work as originally published we have added an Index, completely lacking in the original. Our reprint is further enhanced by the inclusion of an Introduction by G. Glenn Clift which sets forth the background, location, and other sources of the records of the War of 1812 for the State of Kentucky.

The first Crabbs from England crossed the Atlantic in small wooden ships in the 17th century and settled in Massachusetts, Virginia, and Maryland. This book presents American Crabbs from the Colonial Age to the present; the first chapter discusses Crabbs in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Canada. Ralph Crab (1690-1734) married Priscilla Sprigg (1699-1763) in 1716 and lived in Maryland with a family of 9 children. Includes the families of Smith, Threlkeld, Coons, Greenfield, Krebs and others.
Marriage Records of Berkeley County, Virginia for the Period of 1781-1854
Because of its location, Berkeley County, Virginia was a natural magnet for migration and a focal point of westward expansion. The bulk of Berkeley County's early records--including its marriage records--can be found today in the courthouse in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The present work is a digest of the Berkeley marriage records for the entire period from 1781 through 1854. It is arranged in alphabetical order by the names of both brides and grooms and contains the records of nearly 6,000 marriages. At least 15,000 persons are mentioned in this work, not counting ministers.
