Nation-states manage and simplify diversity through a range of practices, including schooling and the mass media. Women and Property Rights in Indonesian Islamic Legal Contexts
In Women and Property Rights in Indonesian Islamic Contexts, eight scholars of Indonesian Islam examine women’s access to property in law courts and in village settings. The authors draw on fieldwork from across the archipelago to analyse how judges and ordinary people apply interpretations of law, religion, and gender in deliberating and deciding in property disputes that arise at moments of marriage, divorce, and death. The chapters go beyond the world of legal and scriptural texts to ask how women in fact fare in these contexts. Women’s capabilities and resources in Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim society and one with distinctive traditions of legal and social life, provides a critical knowledge base for advancing our understanding of the social life of Islamic law. Therefore, Faculty of Ushuluddin, UIN (the State Islamic University) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held jointly the 2nd International Conference on Qur’an and Hadith Studies (ICONQUHAS 2018) and the 1st International Conference on Islam, Science, and Technology (ICONIST2018), with the theme “Qur’an-Hadith, Information Technology, and Media: Challenges and Opportunities”. Sastra sering kali mencerminkan nilai-nilai, norma-norma, dan konteks budaya tertentu. Dengan membedah sastra, pembaca dapat memperluas wawasan mereka tentang berbagai budaya dan perspektif yang mungkin berbeda dengan mereka sendiri. Satu di antara teori yang bisa digunakan sebagai pisau bedah adalah teori fiksi robert stanton. Dalam buku ini, diuraikan tentang teori robert stanton serta aplikasinya dalam bedah sastra pada empat judul karya sastra berbeda dengan fokus analisis yang berbeda juga.
