Pelts

Parker Dozhier has led a very interesting life as a freelance writer, book author, lecturer, trapper, fur buyer, consultant, fur broker, and fishing camp operator. His vast knowledge of the fur industry, both on a national and international scale, is unrivaled. While Pelts is a fictitious novel centering around the many ups and downs of the intriguing worldwide raw fur industry, much of it is based upon his experiences and observations while traveling the globe as a fur broker and consultant. His travels have taken him to China, Korea, Canada, and Africa. Dozhier negotiated the fi rst export of North American furs to Mainland China since the Communist takeover in 1949. Parker lives near Hot Springs, Arkansas, and is currently working on a sequel to Pelts. His fi rst book, Death in the Desert (involving those in the fur trade), has been widely read and received favorable reviews.

Right-Wing Populism in America

Right-wing militias and other antigovernment organizations have received heightened public attention since the Oklahoma City bombing. While such groups are often portrayed as marginal extremists, the values they espouse have influenced mainstream politics and culture far more than most Americans realize. This important volume offers an in-depth look at the historical roots and current landscape of right-wing populism in the United States. Illuminated is the potent combination of anti-elitist rhetoric, conspiracy theories, and ethnic scapegoating that has fueled many political movements from the colonial period to the present day. The book examines the Jacksonians, the Ku Klux Klan, and a hos...

Every American man, woman and child has been taught that the Bill of Rights guarantees our freedom. But, such semantics repeated enough over two hundred years have left us blissfully ignorant to reality. The Bill of Rights is a blue print for freedom and two centuries after our founding it has become a symbol of that freedom. But there is no magic contained within that parchment. The magic is embodied in the American people, because we will only continue to enjoy our freedom as long as we are willing to fight for it. At some point or another in our history our government has violated virtually every right ever promised to the people in the Bill of Rights. Laws, executive orders, court ruling...

Sheridan was provoked by the perpetual attempt of the religious right and the ultra-conservative elements in America to label everything "liberal" as if it were an evil that had invested our entire society with the poisonous venom. He feels that Jesus established the basis for precisely what the Democratic Party has espoused for the past seventy-five years.
