1) Historical and biographical manuscript of the three John Parkers (1: b. 1706; 2: d. 1690; 3: d. 1661) who settled on the Kennebec River. Includes typescript and handwritten copies of an Indian deed to John Parker (14 June 1659); typescript of a deed to Richard Wharton, of Boston, to John Parker selling him land in Phippsburg, Me. (15 July 1684); and deposition of John Phillips of Charlestown, confirming the location of the second (d. 1690) John Parker's land (7 Nov. 1748). Deeds of land owned by the first and second John Parkers relate to tracts owned by the Indian sagamore Robinhood. Current day names for places represented include Casco, Phippsburg, Monhegan Island, Hills Beach, Winter Harbor, Biddeford, and Saco.
