Diese Arbeit zeigt Wege zur Erfassung und planerischen Bewertung dieses Erbes am Beispiel der Heluo-Region in Zentralchina, die als Ursprung der chinesischen Zivilisation gilt. Im Mittelpunkt der Darlegungen steht eine gedankliche Anpassung des in Deutschland entwickelten Konzepts der Kulturlandschaftspflege an die aktuellen gesetzlichen und institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen in China als ein konzeptioneller Beitrag zu einer bewussteren Transformation chinesischer Kulturlandschaften.
