The Politics of Fiscal Welfare
Fiscal welfare (or social tax expenditures) is a policy instrument associated with Liberal welfare states that has been on the rise across many European welfare states. This book sheds light on the use and effects of fiscal welfare in France and Sweden. Focusing on the introduction of a 50% tax deduction on domiciliary care and household services, it explores the politics behind this scheme, its effects on care provision as well as on labour market dualisation, highlighting how fiscal welfare contributes to structuring both a social division of welfare and a social division of labour. This ground-breaking book opens a new field of research by exploring fiscal welfare, the political uses of this policy instrument, the patterns of inequalities it gives rise to and its policy feedback effects.

This study explores the development of a Swedish Marxist noir subgenre after the 1990s through a Marxist reading of central works, from the Marlowe novels of Raymond Chandler to the 1960s social crime fiction of Sjowall-Wahloo to modern bestselling authors such as Henning Mankell, Stieg Larsson, Roslund & Hellstrom, Jens Lapidus, Arne Dahl and others. Så här kunde deckare skrivas! Så här kunde Sverige skildras! Maj och Per var glödande kommunister, men också ett innerligt kärlekspar. Reportrar som träffade dem hade svårt att skriva artiklarna efteråt, för vem sa egentligen vad? De föll varandra i talet, alltid tillsammans, alltid sammanflätade. Så BOKEN OM BECK är en berättelse om litteraturhistoria, men också en kärlekshistoria. Roman om ett brott skapade det svenska deckarundret. Det är svårt att tänka sig en Wallander, en Salander eller en Van Veeteren utan Martin Beck. Synthesis and Characterization of Transition Metal Diborides
This thesis is devoted towards physical vapor deposition (PVD) of thin films of transition-metal (TM) diborides, focused on the material system TiBx, Ti1-xAlxB2-y and CrBx. The metal diborides are a large family of compounds with both metallic and ceramic properties, due to its bonding nature being a mix of covalent and ionic bonds. Their characteristics include, e.g., good mechanical, electrical and thermal properties, while an improved oxidation and corrosion resistance are currently sought after.
