For Peter James McDonough, life is simple. He is wealthy, smart and a speed freak. He pushes the envelope but never loses control. Then one day, shots ring out, shattering the tense rhythm of a sailboat race on San Francisco Bay. PJ and his crew suddenly find themselves targets in a game played by international drug smugglers and killers. Their lives will be changed forever, if they can survive. Using high tech boats, aircraft and weapons, the crew must confront a Colombian drug lord, the depths of contemporary criminal greed and cruelty, and the edges of friendship, teamwork and courage. Along the way, PJ’s growing romance with the exotic Kathryn reveals mystical connections to ancient Indian beliefs that connect her past and his future. A roller coaster adventure, a love story and a high-tech speed read, Crew will capture your imagination and keep you up late turning pages. Who has your six in the heart of danger? Your Crew, that’s who!
Provides a rigorous treatment of some of the basic tools of economic modeling and reasoning, along with an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of these tools.
This work presents a full generic approach to the detection and recognition of traffic signs. The approach is based on the latest computer vision methods for object detection, and on powerful methods for multiclass classification. The challenge was to robustly detect a set of different sign classes in real time, and to classify each detected sign into a large, extensible set of classes. To address this challenge, several state-of-the-art methods were developed that can be used for different recognition problems. Following an introduction to the problems of traffic sign detection and categorization, the text focuses on the problem of detection, and presents recent developments in this field. The text then surveys a specific methodology for the problem of traffic sign categorization – Error-Correcting Output Codes – and presents several algorithms, performing experimental validation on a mobile mapping application. The work ends with a discussion on future research and continuing challenges.
Leading experts across smooth dynamics and ergodic theory present a broad research perspective and set an agenda for future work.

Like previous handbooks, the present volume is an authoritative and up-to-date compendium of information and perspective on the neurobiology of ingestive behaviors. It is intended to be stimulating and informative to the practitioner, whether neophyte or senior scholar. It is also intended to be accessible to others who do not investigate the biological bases of food and ?uid ingestion, who may teach aspects of this material or simply wonder about the current state of the ?eld. To all readers, we present this handbook as a progress report, recognizing that the present state of the ?eld is much farther along than it was the last time a handbook was published, but mindful of the likelihood that it is not as far along as it will be when the next handbook is prepared. This ?eld has witnessed a spectacular accretion of scienti?c information since the ?rst handbook was published in 1967. During the generation of science between then and the publication of the second handbook in 1990, numerous scienti?c reports have substantially changed the perspective and informational base of the ?eld.
