Economic Instability and Stabilization Policy
This book pleads for a new orientation of government economic policy, as well as central bank policy, rejecting the traditional government stabilization policy that leads to a dead-end of economic instability and social inequality in the long run. Growing economic instability and increasing state stabilization characterize the development of the capitalist market economy since the major world economic crises of the last century. Trading Off Competing Allocation Principles
In this book the tenability of prominent but conflicting allocation principles is evaluated with the help of questionnaire studies. Particularly the acceptance of a compromise solution is investigated which demands maximising total welfare subject to a certain floor level of individual welfare of all people. An interdisciplinary approach is followed to motivate each survey. With the help of graphical presentations consequences of different principles are visualised. Trade-offs between competing notions are found to be much more likely than possibly expected. Heterogeneity of justice attitudes can be witnessed in all studies. However, the principles of responsibility and needs seem to be of greater importance. Additionally, the gender of a respondent is found to have a major impact.

Nach Darlegung der Historie der Saisonbereinigung folgt eine Darstellung praktisch wichtiger Bereinigungsverfahren und eine Einführung in die Analyse saisonaler Zeitreihen. Neuere Verfahren zur Zeitreihenzerlegung (wie z.B. strukturelle Komponentenmodelle, ARIMA-modellgestützte Verfahren, verallgemeinertes Berliner Verfahren, Modifikationen und Weiterentwicklungen von CENSUS X-11) werden behandelt und der Einsatz von Analyseverfahren zur Konjunkturdiagnose diskutiert. Methodische und methodologische Ausführungen zum Vergleich von Saisonbereinigungsverfahren sowie Überlegungen zur Treffergenauigkeit von Diagnosemethoden schließen sich an. Abschließend wird über empirische Vergleichsuntersuchungen von Saisonbereinigungsverfahren im Zeit- und Frequenzbereich berichtet.
