Following this encounter, the subject travels to the last separatist stronghold, an ancient Coptic medina, where he unearths a terrifying secret agenda: the state's ultimate technocratic project. He then embarks on a physical, mental, and spiritual journey, forcing him to confront an anguished past, a hopeless present, and a potentially horrifying future. When life faces its darkest hour, its extinction event, will it survive the ordeal and gain salvation? Or will it fail and forever suffer damnation?
* Winner of bronze medal for horror, 2014 eLit Book Awards (Illuminating Digital Publishing Excellence): "The Book of Death" by Ramy Tadros The Occidental Union rules the world. A stifling ideology combining scientism with collectivism is embraced as the answer to society's troubles. In the pursuit of progress, perfection, and equality, the State controls every aspect of life. But reality differs from the State-forged statistics, and the State-planned society is not perfect. The people inhabit a world where one Administration, one company, and one trade union drain the life out of everyone. It is a society where State-suckled mobs prowl the streets and terrify their victims into submission. Darkness shrouds the lands. Death haunts the living. Despair taints everything. And after decades of decay, the State is now perishing. In a final act of desperation, a man visits the last State-free bastion and stumbles across a horrifying secret. He then embarks on a journey that will test his mind, body, and soul. Yet will he find salvation or damnation at the end of his struggle?

Although it plays a central role in all our lives, few people take the time to understand the modern state. Why does the state exist? What is its purpose? And how does the citizen fit into its scheme? Follow author Ramy Tadros as he reveals, from a libertarian perspective, the fundamental truths behind the state. Even though the book focuses on the state abuse of Egypt's Coptic minority since the 2011 Egyptian revolution, the findings apply to other nations and populations. State-bred oppression and injustice can threaten all individuals. This book will also show you how politicians can abuse democracy. And you will gain an insight into the six key ingredients that shape a good society and limit a state's power. Finally, you will discover how the state, by unleashing the war of the words, can strip you of your freedoms or fool you into embracing false freedoms.

Because the automated clearinghouse (ACH) has been found to have lower social costs than paper checks, the Federal Reserve has been promoting more widespread use of ACH by lowering ACH processing fees. In this paper we have obtained the first numerical estimates of ACH demand elasticities, a measure of the responsiveness of ACH demand to price changes. In order to determine how robust the estimates are, various methods were employed to estimate the demand elasticities.
