To Live in Christ is an innovative, comprehensive lay formation program that responds to people who are seeking a deeper, more meaningful spiritual relationship with Christ. With the needs of the laity now being met by professional lay ministers, this program is timely. It re-opens doors for all Christians to examine, to communicate, and to study multiple aspects of the Christian faith. The program encompasses prayer, reflection, scripture reading, and sharing with other members of the group. It consists of five subjects: Jesus, Discipleship, Prayer, Baptism, and Eucharist. Each subject is divided into six ninety-minute gathering periods that can be approached in any sequence. There is built-in flexibility to respond to the demands on time in our busy lives. Discussions can, if necessary, be brief, or extended. A major objective of the program is to encourage as much freedom for expression as possible.

A profound awareness of this helps us counter a cold, abstract image of God and make all of life sacramental.
In Texts, Rocks, and Talk biblical scholar and teacher John Lanci suggests that many have lost the ability to focus on the essentials, to experience a Jesus Christ alive and powerful in our midst. He responds by inviting readers on a journey back to the Bible. Lanci conveys the experience of interpreting the Bible, inviting readers to witness the interpretation of one particular passage from the Hebrew Bible and one from the New Testment from start to finish. Along the way he covers some of the same ground that biblical introductions present, as he explains what interpreters do and why they do it. Readers will gain a deeper understanding of the need to interpret texts and greater confidence ...
