Progress in Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition, IWAIPR 2018, held in Havana, Cuba, in September 2018. The 42 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 101 submissions. The papers promote and disseminate ongoing research on mathematical methods and computing techniques for artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, in particular in bioinformatics, cognitive and humanoid vision, computer vision, image analysis and intelligent data analysis, as well as their application in a number of diverse areas such as industry, health, robotics, data mining, opinion mining and sentiment analysis, telecommunications, document analysis, and natural language processing and recognition.

Nuevos actores y nuevas diplomacias en el sistema internacional
Este libro reúne investigaciones desarrolladas por los autores en el marco de las líneas de investigación del Centro de Pensamiento UNCaribe y del Grupo Agenda Internacional. Amplía el análisis e investigación sobre nuevos actores y diplomacias en el sistema internacional, tema aún poco abordado por la academia colombiana a pesar de su creciente dinamismo e influencia. Para ello, realiza una aproximación a tres casos. Los dos primeros, actores paraestatales: las ciudades de Medellín y Bogotá; y el tercero, un actor contraestatal subversivo: el EPL.
Research Justice
Challenging traditional models for conducting social science research within marginalized populations, -research justice- is a strategic framework and methodological intervention that aims to transform structural inequalities in research. This book is the first to offer a close analysis of that framework and present a radical approach to socially just, community-centered research. It is built around a vision of equal political power and legitimacy for different forms of knowledge, including the cultural, spiritual, and experiential, with the goal of greater equality in public policies and laws that rely on data and research to produce social change.
